I know they aren't traditionally "badass" animals, but they're literally named after one of the seven deadly sins, so these motherfuckers are at least a 9/10 on the badass scale in my book.

Out of my random collection of useless knowledge....

    - strong swimmer
    - symbiosis with algae and moths
    - weighing up to 1/4 tons

@IntrusionCM 1/4 tons?! No way, it's around 10kg for the larger contemporary species.

    Ancestors / Progenitor...
Brain couldn't decide on a word so just not writing it at all was the solution... 🤣

    Too tired.

Oh, and they are actually badasses, but here's the ultimate guide how to survive a sloth attack: https://youtube.com/watch/...

@Fast-Nop pro tip: plants cannot run away from you 😉

If you follow cryptids at all there is supposed to be a giant sloth in south america. Stories of its skin stopping bullets. Then scientist dug up an ancient giant sloth fossil. It has bone embedded in its skin for defense. Lends credibility to the "stories".

Cryptids are just "fun" in my mind. Fun to conjecture what might be lurking in the forests.

@Demolishun some are definitely believable. The people’s descriptions might not fit them fully, but there may be creatures out there that at least partially fits their descriptions. Some could be regular animals with rare mutations.
