Hobo424068y@heyheni Nope! Only opened it a few times, got confused how to exit, googled, exited, pondered it's existence.
But I'll check this out! Thanks! -
Hobo424068y@jonjo gotta learn how to use vim to be quick lol, otherwise you're trapped trying to figure out how to type and exit haha
-
@Hobo42 yeah vim needs to be configured to be "userfriendly" like vs code. When you master vim you will be a magician.
-
@jonjo did you try vs code?
https://code.visualstudio.com/
I used sublime, brackets, atom but damn is vs code neat. integrated git gui, debuging and pluginmanager. and its super fast and gets monthly updates with awesome new features. -
@jonjo how so? Because I like having a multitude of features and know how to use them? K
-
@jonjo lol its open source and runs on linux thanks to electron and has not much to do with the big IDE visual studio. I know it's hard to overcome M$ hate, but VS Code is awesome. 😉

Root797678yVim is awesome! Learning vim is not.
For everyone else there's sublime (which is also awesome) -
rayanon13608yAnyone wanting to try out vim check out this project called SpaceVim. https://spacevim.org
It's a community distribution with lots of plugins installed and configured for a user-friendly use. -
Hobo424068y@Lisanna lol funny you say that, it wasn't for me, but I'm running a crouton Linux so it wasn't meant to he fully loaded or anything. Had vi out-of-box though!

I've been vimming exclusively for the last 4 months and I have to say it's one of the best decisions I've taken. Here's my config (I use nvim) https://github.com/brainlessdevelop...

@heyheni lol

Fairly new to Linux, read that vim is a neat editor but hard to learn, good for script editing and such, but why use it over a language specific editor or something like VS Code?
