Just because a developer is a programming wizard does not mean we are physical hardware installation wizards as well.

I hate when people ask me to setup their personal home systems; especially networked printers.

The amount of times people have asked me "Oh can you fix my phone", "oh can you help setup my new printer?", "Can you help me setup this new universal remote?", the list goes on and on. At least some family members have offered to pay.

@nicnaknic my family offers to pay prior to the work, then when I'm done they say "I'll get you the next time I see you, we're family it's not like we won't see each other again."

Yeah, except I need to pay bills now and you're not ever going to actually pay me.
