Meanwhile my dad only thought something may be wrong when it took 3 minutes to open the web browser on his laptop.
Apparently console windows flashing on the screen and the broken virus scanner weren't suspicious to him, in the end the whole thing was infected and one of the hard drives malfunctioned.
