Spend half an hour finding music to listen to while I code; Pause it after 30 seconds to concentrate on refactoring. Stays paused for rest of day.

Really getting the most out of those expensive new headphones.

4. Porcupine Tree
most of them are instrumentals. so I don't need to pause. hope it helps. you could also try piano tracks by Ludovico Einaudi

TBH most of the time the only reason I have my headphones on is to keep the people away :-P

I personally listen to mrsuicidesheep on YouTube. He has amazing mixes that are not too heavy. My personal favourite is taking you higher.

I sometimes put on my noise cancelling headphones without listening to anything - just to NOT listening to my coworkers talking loudly in their phones, singing, whistling and humming.

I like working in silence more than I like working with music, but with the Open Floor Plan office contributing so much Collaboration, I often resort to headphones...and then do exactly this.

Maybe choosing the music helps me get in the flow?

I mostly listen to piano tracks while coding. It doesn't distract me and I like it :)
