To all my asian friends with YouTube channels, please take some time to learn proper english word pronunciation, I totally hate going to a video with info I definitely need but I have to skip it because I don't understand shit.

PS:
Am not asian , i may not understand the struggles of pronunciation in english coming from your native language.

    @EpicofGilgamesh Beggars can't be choosers.

    @EpicofGilgamesh that's Indian English, it's just a different form of English like American or Australian English.

    Yeah e.g. that Indian style of saying "aks" for "ask" or "dekstop" for "desktop". Makes you sound like a Jamaican rastaman who is high on weed.

    No reason to limit this to asians or YouTube. In fact I understand this most with asians because their native languages are so fundamentally different. From their point of view English is considered one of the most difficult languages to learn.

    But I also get what you mean. I constantly get distracted by some strong accents or mispronounced words. I don't want to, but that's how it is. But whatever, just watch a different video.

    Just read an article. I deliberately avoid youtube videos unless it's about a graphical tool. In the past 5 years the only computer-related knowledge that I learned from YouTube was Blender.

    @deadlyRants That's what I mean, their videos on tech are mostly well researched compared to the boiled down ads we get from other content creators (looking at you LTT) , but nope gotta skip it , deciphering mispronounced words is a pain

    I actually think YouTube is a great way to learn how to understand accented English. If you stay in the industry long enough, you will end up working with people who are not native English speakers.

    @electrineer it's Hindenglish

    @netikras that's actually a different thing from Indian English

    @deadlyRants @NickyBones according to Wikipedia, there are 260k native Indian English speakers.

    What if I tell you, the target audience of those videos are Indians college students?

    Anyway, I've got a pretty good accent and I like teaching as well. I can teach Data Structures, Algorithms, Java/OOP or DBMS if you pay my in dollars 😝
