Jokes aside: I dislike it as well, and sometimes I really feel like shit thinking the more we’ll progress the more we’ll see these “reworks”…

- it is a recognised brand, so investors are fine
- no need for new character designs
- you can reuse the same core elements over and over
- until it becomes “iconic”

No, I’m not talking about every Nintendo ip, why do you ask?

While it’s nice to have more of the same, sometimes, I’d much rather have different characters in the same universe… they’d still have the same branding, but they would not be murdering pre-existent characters.
