God I hope this was a missed translation.

DOS 3.1 is better than Ubuntu.

AWS Linux images are patched more frequently than Ubuntu native.

If you are all in on Amazon, go with AMI Linux.

If I understand you correctly that you’re talking AMIs in AWS compute instances, just go with the Amazon Linux unless you have a reason to choose otherwise. It is after all optimised for the purpose…

I haven’t seen much difference between AWS Linux and Ubuntu. I stick with Ubuntu personally as it helps keep parity with my other Docker images.
