Sometimes I wonder if I'm just a shit employee

If you always think of bad ideas before your co-workers can, and they know your ideas are bad, then they can't possibly agree to one of your ideas, hence you save the projects.

The real danger comes from employees who are mostly good. When they have a stupid idea, that gets implemented because everyone trusts them.
