Here's an issue I've been having with my PC for the past year;

*gets blue screen of death* (every 5 mins)
*takes out my second pair of ram cards, blue screening stops*
*waits a day, puts cards back in, has no more problems for 1-2 weeks*
*gets more blue screens*
*repeats*
If I leave the cards out, the system NEVER has any issues.
But, I can't play games smoothly on 4gb of ram.
Also, I can't afford new cards.

    Run a memtest to verify your thoughts? I've had occasions where RAM BSoDs were a fluke and I could've just reinstalled my OS instead to fix all issues.

    Bad ram chips or timings too tight... Dis you change the timings in the bios?

    Yes, as others have said. It usually has up to 3 years or lifetime warranty, so you should be able to get it replaced 4 free.

    @iAmNaN Each pair matched, but the pairs ore different brands. All four cards are 2GB/ea.

    @mansoorkn BUT I can take them out and put them back in and they work fone for a week or two.

    @Mvzes I've reinstalled my os.. I contacted Microsoft Tech when it first started, the idiot had me change all kinds of things on my pc and ended up corrupting 600GB of data. On my main HDD.

    @Plinn Uhhhh... What?

    @helloworld I got the PC cheap, with the specific condition that it would be supplied without warranty. I've had the PC for about three years now.

    @Cyanite I'm so sorry. At least you reached 1k here.

    @Cyanite are the latencies the same between the different brands? If not, that could be an issue. You might just want to spring for a new set of sticks that match, if you have the budget. Check the mobo manufacturer site and see what they recommend. You may have to look under legacy boards, but they should have the info.

    @iAmNaN As of yesterday; I make $12/mo. Thats my budget. I have no other income.

    @Cyanite well, that won't work.

    @iAmNaN And to make matters worse.. I'M OUT OF COFFEEE Q.Q

    @Cyanite it happens sometime that as ram chips on the dimm module get old the tolerance on the clock and other signals generated by the motherboard tighten. Some memory modules may stop to work after several years of good service. In that case you can revive them by lowering the speed in the bios.
    It also happens to people having modified their memory timings in the bios to gain performance.

    @Cyanite set up a gofundme for some ram chips. I'll chip in a couple of dollars. The good people on here should help too.

    @helloworld I have a Patreon for my game. ^~^ More worried about that then my PC issues though, TBH.
