My latest question on what to do to start freelancing didn't get any traction. My guess is that the question was put incorrectly or was too broad.

Anyway, I'm still interested on working as a freelance

    Simple, just jump into it. Given that whatever country you reside in has a healthy market for consultants. Unless you live in a country that is cheap I think going down the "getting freelance jobs from online websites" won't sustain much of a lifestyle.

    @devdiddydog I don't live in such country 😢

    @catholic-emacs You mean in a country with a healthy local market for consultants or a cheap country where you could base it on online gigs?

    @devdiddydog I believe locally we have a healthy market of consultants, but I think most people doing that do graphic design and such.

    I don't really know how it would look like for someone with my software engineer skills getting gigs here, I think most people just want a WordPress site up and running, who knows.

    Then you are looking in the wrong segment. What are your qualifications? And if you don't mind, country or region you live in?

    @devdiddydog sure. I've been working with React, Typescript for 2 and some' years now. 3 or so years working with Golang, and I have far more time with Python.

    Born and raised in Costa Rica.

    Right, well I don't know how life as a developer is in Costa Rica but with React and Typescript you should be set up pretty well generally. How about chatting to some local recruiters? Just put on your LinkedIn profile that you are looking for opportunities, and usually they will be on the phone almost right away. Tell them straight up that you are after contract work, not full time positions to avoid wasting time.
