Jesus, this took so much work...

My university has started Swift lectures but my god their Mac minis are really crappy so I decided I would install Mac on my PC.

How can an operating system take so much fucking work to even boot!

@kabiir Hackintosh. It is legal since you need a OSX Install disk. Hackintosh is merely a loader that allows macOS to run on hardware other than what it's restricted to.

You basically need components similar to ones that could be in an Apple product, meaning Intel, Nvidia and the high end AMD stuff that can be built into the Mac Pro.
On the legal side you are afaik in a grey area but I don't know of Apple actively doing something against it.

Can you dual boot between windows and macOS? I hear that mac wont install on a hard drive, if it finds windows on it. Is it true?

@rvnx it's not legal. macOS is only allowed to run on Apple certified hardware. Which are macbooks and iMacs. It's in their ToS. Since you use hackintosh as a wrapper to run the original OS on the hardware,its illegal. Even derivative work based in their code would still be illegal.

Technically illegal, installing macos on non Mac hardware is against the EULA. But it's unclear if such a EULA is enforceable, and Apple hasn't ever went after an individual for hackintosh, only a few companies trying to sell computers with macos pre-installed.

@DrEmann Even if@vringar Well, this is and isn't true, lots of people make hackintoshes on AMD CPUs (a patched kernel to allow it). Also on a laptop you need to do some serious patch work on the DSDT and on the SSDT. Just so it behaves like a normal computer. (Show battery level, suspend, shutdown and restart work, etc). My computer is recognized as a 2016 MacBook Pro with 2 thunderbolt ports. Living the dongle life! (Or not XD)
