I would've objected earlier. The mere idea that if they had lots of feedback points they would sit on them for a week until they got a complete list, that's just dumb.
Sure there's a good intention there of not bothering devs with incomlete/unprioritized issue reports.
But I prefer reports are sent instantly under the agreement that "devs don't have to read them yet. But can take a peek and can respond if they immediately understand issue. Or wait for the complete report if they don't" -
@jiraTicket I don't mind incomplete feedback at all, it's better than sitting around twiddling thumbs waiting for the full list to come through.
I hate being told "Implement X" and then a week later a meeting occurred that I wasn't aware of and "Feature X" is now shelved but I'm not updated until either I ask or a meeting occurs where I'm involved. -
I gotta admit since this thread was created I've found myself in a mini project which has been delayed 😕 and now I can truly see why it's kinda hard to prevent.
I've raised all the flags, I've said to every stakeholder "I hope you're aware that we need X days between the last change and the release date"
Yet they somehow keep delaying changes and pushing the deadline
The only thing I'm happy about is I brought in an extra dev (who I trust and enjoy working with) and that makes all the difference. Sharing the weight, laughing about the crap etc - makes the bad times feel fine.
