Sometimes it feels like I'm not as passionate towards coding as I was before. Seeing bright-eyed juniors with an unquenchable thirst for knowledge makes me wish I could feel the same again. I mean I still like it and all, but it's just not the same.

As far as I understand, having a routine in life makes that happen. You can always go join a startup but then you can also throw yourself under the bus too.

Hmm... How about building a project with a new _thing_ when you get your yearly vacation time?
They let you have some, right?

I’d like to see juniors having the same coding passion as me or other seniors :)

@melezorus34 Right now, new things are mostly just frustrating. Like "I don't have enough time, just work already. The old thing needs my attention."

@hanieh-m that's exactly what I'm saying! Try getting into new stuff when you don't have to think about the old stuff at least for a month, like -as i said- with your yearly vacation time.

@lambda123 The thing is, that I actually like those complications. Or at least I used to.

Passion? Passion doesn't pay the bills. Passion burns itself out and leaves you dry.

I work to provide for my kids, as it happens coding pays quite well and is a pretty chill, easy and secure job. xD
