is it because of the required legacy support that was needee for websites?

When is going safari for retirement

Sadly that does not mean people will stop using it

    Safari is the new IE

@jAsE honestly, un-ironically to a degree. IE got more people online than anything else. Now, M$ monopolistic practices behind it doomed it to be hellish, but there is something to be said for ubiquity.

@kamen this phrase always gets my apple boi collaugues very mad, but it's true

@Manuch Now that IE is no more and Edge is Chromium-based, it's exactly Safari that usually ends up needing extra attention (from web dev perspective). Not even Firefox, even though it uses a different engine.

@kamen it’s not FireFox because everybody normal references MDN. And then there’s Apple.

@hack if support Drops and Banner shows Alternative, the user will change Browsers.

Better to drop Windows Support and see then how the World is changing.

@kamen so we kill Apple off.

@kamen and they only get their support if they opensource all their software.

And force Adobe to support Linux.

@max19931 I believe they wouldn't open source Edge for the same reasons they won't open source VSCode (the proprietary part of it), although there isn't a whole lot of infrastructure to Edge like there is to VSCode (the extension marketplace) since Edge can use the Chrome marketplace just fine.

As for Adobe on GNU/Linux, the only thing I can say is "keep dreaming". No intent to sound rude/hostile, I just realistically don't see it happening.
