Ubuntu GNOME 17.04. with some customization looks like I will settle for this as my preferred Linux Distro.

Stock gnome has very nice workflow than mac. There is no need to imitate mac os to satisfy your mind.

I would recommend Guake if you use multiple workspaces, it's a drop down terminal with tabs called by pressing F12 :)

I myself switched to KDE month ago and use the KDE variant of Guake called Yakuaze and personally I like it more but I do miss the features I made in my fork of Guake
