i think it's cool. i can work on my c code between games without running a vm

the thing I liked was that they stated almost all native bash tools should work without modifications.
the thing that disappointed me was that it wouldn't support interaction with the Windows tools/programs

it's got a long way to go. maybe toss that out there as a suggestion to Microsoft.

I really hope they don't decide to fork it and make it their own in a couple years time... Having a decent shell by default might bring some unity to platforms. That being said, it's not gonna make me switch back to windows

To be quite correct it isn't Linux coming to windows, in fact that exactly what is NOT coming to windows, the Linux kernel. The gnu userland is though and frankly, it's the only reason I'd update to windows ten, to give me the same tools I'm used to using!

yeah it's just user mode sitting on top on Windows. what I think I like the most about it, is CONONICAL is probably getting some major funding to make it work for them lol. means better Linux 😎
