Are you serious? It's Linux in my experience that's had all the driver issues. Windows drivers have almost always "just worked" when I installed something or plugged something in, and I've been using Windows since Windows 95.

Yeah stick with the big guns that @skbs mentions if you want an install (and mostly) done solution.
Ubuntu even managed the stupid touch buttons on my old HP laptop that neither Windows or HP's driver manager could handle. -
If Windows doesn't support your hardware I hope for you that Linux does... People always bitch about Windows but it support tons of hardware. What hardware are you using anyway that it's not supported?

Tired of installing a billion random drivers and tools on windows to make something work. What is the best linux distro for programming on custom built PC that won't make me spend years tweaking to get full hardware support?
