Who had the braindead idea to program the alarm clock to run on system time instead of local time. My clock adjusted automatically 2h while travelling but the alarm didn't! So im now awake 2h too early!

Wow, finally an actual use case for not using UTC.

This is just negligence of the programmer, as at least Android notifies apps on time zone and other clock adjustments.

A recurring alarm? I'm not sure you'd want it to always adjust according to local time, but at least there should be an option for either choice.

i had a calendar/diary app in the 90s which would silently adjust all appointments by an hour if there was a change to/from British Summer Time. Meaning that your 1030am appointment became a 9.30am one or an 11.30 am one - sheer genius (not).

This should either be a toggle on the alarm or UTC should be the default IMO. My alarms are adjusted to my weekly lectures and meetings, if I went abroad, I'd still want them to ring before the lecture and not adjusted to local time. If I was taking a vacation or otherwise broke out of my routine, I'd set new alarms anyway.
