@C0D4 my man is pondering on the real important things here.

"If you’re still worried, do note that the Space Telescope Science Institute’s document mentions that the script processor itself is written in C++, which is known for being... well, the type of language you’d want to use if you were programming a spacecraft."

Actually no, I would still select Javascript for this since 1. I have brain damage and 2. Lisp developers are harder to come about.

I get that just changing a file from homebase and blasting it into space can be extremely productive, but I would gather than M-x JWST-Edit from emacs would also be productive in a language with way less warts than JS. AND finally that C++ can become extremely hard to parse since not everyone has the discipline to write proper C++ code.

C++ code in the wild by shit programmers sucks just as much as shit JS and shit PHP, and I have paid my dues with those. Bad Lisp code is fucking hard to find.

But they have the ability to hire best, so why not the best C developers?

@yehaaw First, because they are scared of the ultimate power wielded by C developers.

I also thing that they are holding to the idea of code being interpreted rather than compiled. I dunno, but C would be one of my choices too.

We must demand official statement from them! There’s no other way
