C0D4681382yBoth pretty similar.
I use both and these days there's not a real lot of difference since GitHub has free private repos and free "actions" per month.
Major difference is ci/cd pipelines, GitHub is a lot easier to setup since most tutorials will be based on it, gitlab is more UI intuitive. -
C0D4681382y@dIREsTRAITS actions is the name of the ci/cd pipeline on GitHub, free as in you can use it for no cost for a limited amount each month, same as GitLabs ci/cd suite now.

I prefer GitHub but when my projects get **really** big I use GitLab since they have a maximum storage limit of 10gb while GitHub only offers 100mb

Dont hate me, Jetbrain Space, github, azure devops , gitlab then bitbucket(<- this is shit)

@brnrdo Gitlab is just "ok". I find it less pleasant to use, compared to GitHub. It's is less polished, has less features and there's no good mobile client for it.

McSebi5012yStarted with gitlab since it had free Private repositories from the beginning but now I tend to host most new projects on github, no matter if open source or not. Just for convenience.

@johnmelodyme you like Space? I tried it a few times and can’t seem to find what makes it better than
Jira
