b2plane63892yEverything was in a netherlands language, a non native language. Not even on fucking english. Even the fucking code, variables methods functions THE DOCS and the fucking database SQL columns were in a foreign language. Not only is the project LARGE and COMPLEX AS HELL, on top of that i cant understand or read shit. I asked them how tf am i supposed to read this. Their best answer was to copy and paste the words to google translate. I asked them if i can be transferred to another project. They said no. So i quit

I quit a few projects due to a mix of:
Toxic teams
Incompetence
Additional responsibility pile-up
Distance to office
Repetitiveness
Having very minimal impact
Crucial technical disagreements
Moral objections
Life-altering experiences -
@b2plane I had a similar experience except once removed. The project manager was on an external vendor we subcontracted with and he was project managing devs in foreign countries. His job was hell because he had to Google Translate all his team’s messaging. That led to misunderstandings and slowdowns that impacted my work. And it became my fault when stuff failed. I couldn’t take being held accountable for work I couldn’t control. I tried to reason out a better workflow, taking bosses at their word that they were interested in me and my happiness as an employee and team member, and they opted to fire me instead for not being “up to the task”.

"THE ALIPAY project". So there's the company wanted me and other 3 Devs to complete the super application like WeChat and ALIPAY combined in 2 weeks.
No joke. In 2 weeks.
So we quit. -
@johnmelodyme The bosses saw a movie once where some hackers did some cool things and it only took those guys an hour and 45 minutes. What’s up with you slackers? 😆
What project made you quit a job and why?
