My cousin a recent graduate who just joined a company told me that he took down production today.
I said "Child it is a rite of passage as a developer, you always remember your first time".

Ahh this brings back memories of my first time I took down production. I would often look at my email that whole week to see if I was fired.

Why would you give production access to a new hire?

    I take prod down daily.

Just to make sure they know who's in charge.

Hahaha. When I hired my younger cousin once, seventeen at the time, he quit literally on the first day because his salary was to low and got a better contract the next. Later he convinced mgmt to hire not less then four of his friends and suddenly the office was full of them.
