Fk! I fucking hate these morons. I worked for 4 months on a project. It wasn't perfect but had a much higher satisfaction. I was the only who made it myself and got burned.

Everyone else bought it and had no problems. 👿

Ofcourse bought project will get better score no point to get so mad about it. What matters is that you improve and they still suck ;)

@FullRandom this comment right here! You will be able to explain your project, whilst the others will shit their brains not figuring out a question about the project they 'made'

@NeatNerdPrime That's what happened. And that feels "peace". 😀
  • 2
Same situation, subimt a course project and I get lower than those who brought it from internet. Guess all unis in leb are like that 😒
  • 2
@gitpush especially when there's "wasta" on the table
  • 3
Update: some bitch who worked waaaaay less than I did got a 100. Then she pretended that she got upset about me not getting a good grade. Not sure who I want to punch more, her or the head of department.

    where are you from?
  • 0
@Twelia although it is devestating but after entering work field, I found out in leb no one cares about GPA, so I kinda ok with their wasta and getting bigger than me
  • 0
Fortunately in dev industry, degree means jackshit if you dont have anything built or cant create anything

@gitpush I'll take it as a minor setback but I'm honestly upset, it isn't the first time. My teacher saw the project and said it's great, next thing I know I get a 75? Like how? :')

Sounds like some shady school. First how is it even possible to buy such projects? Second doesn't the Prof interview you about your project, to see if you really understand it?

Also was your grade affected buy the other better scores? Was the average score shifted? If yes and if I had proof I would report it. First to your Prof and if he doesn't react (probably won't because he would also get in trouble) then to the director of your school.

    Much achieve
    Many better

A grade is just a number on a paper, that won't help at all when working on a real project, but the experience and knowledge you got from your hard work will stay with you forever and provide real backup at work.

Don't worry about it, I was in your shoes couple of years ago and hope this story helps you ignore trivial things.

Back in uni I was hardworking however my grades were averaging around 75 - 80 and had few classmates who would always get 90+ by buying assignments or paying people to do their finals.

When we graduated I received 3 interviews and was able to find a job within 2 weeks with a base salary 40% higher than the average for fresh grads, that was because I really worked my ass off building my portfolio.

None of those who bought their marks got a job even a year after graduation had passed they'd fail every screening process in any company they apply for.

Few months ago I saw one of those guys, he's working for dell as a "customer support exec" with a shitty salary, a uniform and an A grade software engineering degree.

So don't let it bother you, just keep on working hard and you'll make it.

@Twelia next thing you know at work u will succeed while wasta people will be like: dafuq I'm supposed to do
  • 4
@Twelia corruption is very tempting to the weak of mind and conscience. But you remained true to yourself and know what you are capable of.

Your 'house' will be built on a big strong decent rock, whilst the other will have their foundations built on the desert sands...
  • 3
@gitpush Agreed. Wasta has always been the weapon of the weak.

    @zshulu true story 🙄

Wait until they try to get a job. Then you'll laugh...

Never bought, did sell... i got 10000$ for my graduation project... GPA 93

@nocgod some people are more fortunate than others
  • 0
@Twelia some people actually came to learn and used their time to learn, regardless of their lecturers/tutors knowledge and skill...
  • 0
@nocgod honestly at some point I noticed some lecturers get jealous of your understanding of material. I got dissed in class once for correcting a teacher haha.
  • 0
@Twelia never ever correct an Arab teacher, you should know that 😝
  • 0
@gitpush some accept it and actually encourage you, the others want to murder you 😂
  • 0
@Twelia why did you correct him? How did it gain you? Showed you knew better?
I wrote a 140 page dissertation with a text summarization software that improved using genetic algorithms... That's how I showed I knew better, not by pointing out they were wrong... No benefit in that.
  • 1
@nocgod I was technically saving someone's ass. The teacher was explaining wrong and I did it right. The student was confused at first but understood after I took the wheel. I don't show off, and I hate people who do. I was simply helping a classmate in need.

@nocgod would you mind elaborating on the genetic algorithms improvement? If you have it published somewhere, please share a link.

    @Twelia true story :-/
  • 2
@zshulu We researched, implemented and improved the MUSE (multilingual sentence extractor) algorithm. the genetic algorithm took sentence "quality" metrics and created a weight vector. we used the ROUGE metric to evaluate our results as fitness function.
The dissertation and code are unfortunately non-public as they are the property of the college. I did however manage to open-source 2 out of 4 projects regarding my work
