    I have worked for a lot of inept folks. They got to where they were(and higher) because of who they know.

    @PonySlaystation I didn’t give it a lot of attention but after you hit 4-5 years of experience recruiters hit you up lel.

    @KALALEX true, but what also helps is going to meet-up events and talk to other attendees. Networking (in person) is the best way to get a job.

    @PonySlaystation Most of my jobs came out of my social circle so that only says a lot, thought not from meetups/events. Although my previous manager (good one) used to go to such events for scouting so I guess the chances are high!

    Contribute code to different open source projects, find somethig that is very popular and sparks your interest. You'll gain experience and networking. Keep it up and offers will come your way.
