Was planning to go and have a fun day out but forecast keeps changing and said it gonna rain... With 90 wait... 80... 60... now 50% probability....

(I live in NJ, takes me 2hrs to get there, can't drive)

Someone plz figure out how to forecast weather more accurately........😩😢😭😟😞😖😧😦

My Dad is an old-school meteorologist, who helped pioneer satellite meteorology, and was the meteorologist for many of the Apollo and Viking launches. They did all of their forecasts manually back then, and they were pretty accurate with their forecasts. He said the reason accuracy has declined, is because the computer models that are used today aren't very good, thus the lack in accuracy. GIGO. Models are only as good as the information that you feed into them.

@iAmNaN well that's why we need new models, I thought were in the age of ML/AI.... They don't work for weather?

@billgates not yet, apparently. AI doesn't have certain traits that the human mind has, and so I think it will still be a while before AI can forecast anything, whether it is an election, soybean yields, or the weather.

@iAmNaN humans can't forecast either tho... And I mean with all the new tech: self-driving cars, big data, scientific computing, shouldn't they good at least just as good?
