Jesus fuckin Christ!!!!

This Iran situation is getting out of hand on the internet!! You have IRGC members publicly try to terrorize people through social media! I checked out some posts on insta, following their hashtags in their language, and then ended up in one weird account posting severed heads! Like, what the absolute fuck???

I know people who own social media platforms are not responsible, but fuck I am terrorized to my bones right now! How does the algo not stop this shit?

Chances are, the people who would report that know enough not to follow those tags. Or maybe that area is not moderated so well since Facebook can't have employees or contractors there.

2 tier justice on most social media. I have noticed this crap for a long time. Which is exactly why I won't have a Twitter or Facebook account. I barely tolerate Reddit as it is (though I know it is cancer as well).

@electrineer well, I submitted a report. I don't think posting heads is a thing that's allowed on most meta products. I don't care if others scroll past, it did hit an entire nervous system for me.

@Demolishun sure but you're okay not being social. I'm not. I need my friends.

@AvatarOfKaine because people are actually dying there. If you don't see a difference between life and death, please visit a psychotherapist and stay away from me.

I'd say the same about Ukraine btw. It's not just Iran. I just didn't come across Russian agents post gore terrorizing shit on the internet tho.

    @Archive in winter !

@AvatarOfKaine not where I am. Maybe you should protest for it!

@Archive our country is worse than Russia.

It pretends everything is hunky dory
We're Berlin games Germany in the fucking 1940s breeding hitler youth and selling our daughters and sisters asses from the time their babies and pretending to be kindly deacons at our local churches and burning people lives up as a POINT for fun not from the struggles of nations or as a side effect of capitalism!

And instead of focusing on this there is always an excuse snd financial cabals shut people up or out in the winter and keep them running in circles out of callous fucked up self interest and mirth and it's a new fad every year about something unrelated which distracts gullible people and complicit assholes of which you are one or the other asshole !

@Archive and if you're in Iran I suppose you make sense

But I'm in the USA and can't fix it if my government doesn't even want to fix its own countries problems ! Because I guarantee you donations would make it to the local chomo.mart in Iran, and not make a difference at all

Jesus fuck I'm gonna blame IRGC for this mumbling mf too. (Because fuck them on a cacti stick, and because you never know where you'll find another one of their cheapass dumbass drones)

@Archive go ahead throw my words back in my face when belief and a different level of experience in a different time made them relevant

At that point I was disgusted by global apathy

    Now I'm disgusted by domestic

I saw a documentary once in which they got employed by a content moderation contractor for Facebook, I believe in either Spain or Portugal. It had a real sweatshop vibe to it. Gotta respect the people who can do it day in and day out so most people don't need to see that stuff. I wish the working conditions have improved, though.

    Texas House Bill 20...

And so many other laws in other countries.

Secularization and transparency of government. Muey needed.

Make lobbyism and religion forbidden in politics.

They care about money, not human rights of genocide.

Wait until you awaken to the fact that the social platforms are fronts for CIA foreign policy manipulation and that they and their algorithms don’t answer to the users, which users are the products not the customers.

@stackodev that's a bit far-fetched considering Russians managed to do the same for a US election just a few years back through manipulating social media. You really think CIA is the only one doing that? I'd be more worried about North Korean influence tbh than CIA whose bread and butter is babysitting over a third of a billion population.

Hell, I'd be more worried about the influence of Coca-Cola or PepsiCo. ^

@Archive Russian influencers indeed used social media against U.S. interests. But theirs was a secondary influence as users, not as "owners". The CIA meets regularly with leaders at social media companies to create entanglements and "offers they cannot refuse" in order to leverage those platforms for foreign policy gains. I thought everyone knew this.
