In an unexpected turn of events, it appears as if years of choosing fancy bullshit over code maintainability will cause said fancy bullshit to eventually break and no obvious way to fix it. There's no way anyone would have seen this one coming.

    @Wisecrack a literal spinning gif to cover the page as it loads data.

    We could use a couple of events, "start loading\stop loading" to handle everything gracefully, but then OF COURSE this would mean we wouldn't get to duplicate our code in 10 different places to load data!
