@thaelgar fuck that expensive piece of shit, maybe polished shit, but still to expensive
I'll just stick to gimp, no matter the OS

@sam9669 never played crysis, not going to
My gaming pc is on Windows anyways, this is just a comparison in the speed difference that i noticed

@aile11 tell that your designer :D
It's the de-facto standard for a reason. So if you want to get serious you will end up using it.

... And btw when you get serious it's actually quite cheap.

How did you meter it? Gimp took 11 seconds on my machine to launch (Arch, HD). After I closed Gimp, the second start only took 2 seconds. I guess it dependends on many criterions how fast a program launches. I couldn't test on Windows. I like Linux, but I think, for comparing you should define comparable (fair) start conditions.☺

@lunatica don't take that serious. Speed metering is complex and depends on many things. It's ranting, not science ;)

@thaelgar I just edit a few images do t expect anything gorgeous from me

@lunatica I simply counted the seconds, but I can confirm that after a restart of the pc it's about the same speed for the first start of gimp
