Dacexi119968y@CozyPlanes you shouldn't be calling people "fag" but i personally don't like apple products but i respect other people's choice
-
@ScribeOfGoD why would he be a traitor if he uses iPhone?
What type of logic is this? -
@ScribeOfGoD hmm then why would other companies want to copy the same THINGS from apple?
-
@elonmusk Apple has a huge market share, so other people want to copy them to their market share. Doesn't mean their products are any good. But if you like spending 1000+$ on shit products feel free. I'll stick to my 400$ laptop that kicks MacBook ass 😂
-
Does copying from apple gains the market share for that company?
Haha I am having a MacBook (2009) still works like charm! 😎 -
donuts236728y@elonmusk there was a rant about the new ones I think how they're expensive but total crap for developers... I'm fact it's all over the internet... Can't find the one I saw but heres one
https://bloomberg.com/news/... -
Dacexi119968y@ScribeOfGoD i like Apples products from a hardware perspective. Their design is beautiful. The only thing i have a problem with is the actual usability of their os's and the price.
-
@Dacexi the fact that you could literally buy the parts and build a computer for way cheaper doesn't bother you? Or the fact that in some of their products they use outdated parts? Being pretty doesn't mean good. My laptop might be ugly asf to some but it still kicks serious ass.
-
@billgates the new MacBooks may be crap but mine works fine! 👌🏻
And the OLED bar is just a gimmick! -
SuryaK14038yI just want to know. Does Apple products have any other problems other than over pricing?
-
SuryaK14038y@billgates I see so u don't really get to customize a lot? Coz I've never used an apple product
-
donuts236728y@SuryaK that and when something goes wrong all you can do is call support and u'll have to keep buying Apple stuff... And when they feel like they want to change ports and cables and other technical specs, you have no power to say no
-
donuts236728yThat's basically the whole idea of tech these days, FANG, the big 4: Lock users in and profit.
Apple though has a super lock... -
Don't complain about apple... Android is what it is cause of apple... Like Linux is what it is cause of Microsoft... And Windows is what it is cause of Macs... You can hate the companies, but without opposition there is no evolution... Btw wasn't this rant about dfox OS??
-
@billgates it's just one of those subjects where most people have extreme opinions :p wasn't rating to anyone in particular
-
dfox426038yI used to use Windows before I started doing iOS development. After that, I started using Mac pretty much exclusively because for iOS development you pretty much have no choice.
Personally I probably still like the feel of Windows a bit better, but I don't really have a choice.
Also, I've had significantly more luck with MacBooks than I've ever had with any brand of Windows laptop (HP, Dell, etc.) I think MacBooks are pretty great. I have a hard time saying they are overpriced because they really do seem pretty durable and I probably wouldn't buy a different laptop in the future.
With that said, I don't have any strong preferences and I though I use an iPhone and Mac I think Apple has a lot of issues and it's warranted to make fun of them. Same really goes with Windows. -
diadev4598yIn terms of the whole Apple vs. Microsoft argument I think what it really comes down to is that Macs as it has been said are overpriced, but what really bothers me about Apple is that recently they've run out of ideas and instead of admitting it, they have started taking basic features away and calling it innovation. Which is bullshit.
-
I think it's just a matter of taste or profession... Like some people like oranges, other like apples... Some people like cunts other like dicks.... And even some like everything...
Me, don't like apple... But I'm glad everytime they introduce something new... Don't like windows but have to use it (games, games...) and don't use Linux cause I'm to lazy to have two OS just because...
Btw I don't like dicks -
trogus131638yI've typically used PCs due to growing up as a computer gamer and building my own boxes for a fraction of what a Mac costs, but past few years I've worked on both, particularly for iOS development and so many of the newer cooler design tools are Mac only (lame!). It's alright, but the thought of dropping $2500 on a computer is still insane to me, I'll let my employer pick up that bill
-
sperator2698y@billgates what about building apps for iOS? What choice will you have then?
I'm working on an osx machine. I'm not an apple fanboy but during work I get used to it and it may be expensive but my hardware does its job. Even gradle building is going really quick. There is not much left to complain about my system I'm using to develop apps.
I think it has to deal with what kinda work you've gotta do. System admins may use unix based machines while designer may prefer apple and so on...it is not just black or white ;-) -
donuts236728y@sperator there's a reason I don't build iOS apps, $99 yearly license is one of them
-
donuts236728yJust came across this; like I said Google is better because they don't own us like Apple.
https://stratechery.com/2017/... -
sperator2698y@billgates 😁 I don't think apple is collecting fewer data from customers than Google. But they may do it more stealthy.
-
donuts236728y@sperator another reason, Android is the OS easiest to cheat on... 😁
Although maybe that's not exactly a good thing.... If I couldn't cheat Is waste less time playing games...
Maybe I should thank Apple a bit... All those users that pay for the games, let's me freeload 😃 -
sperator2698y@billgates sure. one the one hand the deployment process is as fast as hell for android, on the other hand there is such a weak qa from google itself.
Other side of the coin: iOS developers won't never give up to complain about apples review process. But this is part of qa included by apple itself. Hate it and be unpatient or be thankful that they take a deeper look into what you gonna provide for thousands of potential customers! -
dfox426038y@Dacexi yeah, aside from all of our servers, I've had a few laptops that I installed Ubuntu on. It's good and all, but wouldn't do it for me for a primary machine. Too many programs I would want to run that aren't natively supported on Linux and I do a lot of photography so those are important to me (ex. Photoshop, Lightroom, etc.)
-
dfox426038y@Dacexi that's pretty cool! I think for me it comes down to what I would really get out of it (as opposed to just using a Mac), and in terms of Lightroom specifically, I've heard of some issues on Wine. And even on native machines with very large photos Lightroom can be sluggish so I would imagine running on Wine would make it even more sluggish/buggier in some cases.
If I was just doing development I would probably explore a Linux machine much more though.
Always wondered this. What os does dfox use?
