Well, this one I HAVEN'T seen before. I'm officially getting emails from recruiters addressed to someone else's name

Today, apparently my name is Mateus.

    here's what i would reply:

"that's not my name. not even close.

do you ALWAYS fail at the most basic parts of your job, or just sometimes?"

That emails are SPAM. Some of them contain attachments or links they want you to open or click...

My favorite is "We have a new remote opening in Canada. Send your CV to the following address xxxxxx@yyyy.zzz"

What is the opening about? What company is posting it? Estimated pay? Who knows.

@nitnip Seemingly serious SPAM with so little information, that you can't possibly consider it, is targeted at the most stupid people, because they are the most exploitable. To avoid unproductive waste of resources they make it as uninteresting as possible for people not in their target group. so you just discard it instead of wasting their time.

Maybe they don't even search for someone doing IT work for almost free but just money mules...

Shut up, Juan. You should be grateful that you are still getting offers. Your mom, Ramon, is proud of you.

@Oktokolo Yeah.. they are hoping people who are desperate for job will open their attachment anyway, despite having wrong name. So this is not a case of incompetent recruiter.
