Why Redmine has a such bad and convoluted UX? I don't care about its look which comes straight out of the 90s but it shouldn't be made in such a way which each thing you do requires 1000 clicks.

I totally feel this. Although i love Ruby and FOSS Ruby projects, i really loathe Redline for being this user unfriendly. Sure the plugins help, but still vert convoluted...

@NeatNerdPrime at least it has an extensive REST API (altough the documentation isn't well done) so I'm considering to write some scripts to make routine activities easier

"Once upon a time there was an UX architect who dreamed of a tight and neaty interface. It would be clean and unclogged and every feature would be nested in an intuitive place"
"And it was beautiful when there were like 11 or so features"
"But then the unstoppable arrow of time brought 500 more use cases from a large and uncohesive but needy user base"
"And trying to adhere to the UX architectural principles of old, the new features were pumped deeper and deeper into ever more nested menus"
"Now that killer feature that makes *your* life so much easier is more than 20 clicks away"

Hahahah, I gotta tell that tech fairy tale to my kids.

lol. today i was trying to find out how to change background color for a table cell/row in libreoffice write.

the only way is: put cursor inside the cell, go main menu Table -> Properties (on the very bottom), go to "Background" tab in the popup window, select color, ok.

repeat for every row from the 20 i needed changing.

ribbon is great. contextually changing buttons on the toolbar are great.

i guess that's why libreoffice isn't using either...
