Hazarth95212ybut, if you take it's word for it, then how do you recognize when it's wrong?
Even with AI, you have to assume it has biases and makes mistakes, because it learns from human communication and that's what human text contain. So generally speaking, you should cross reference everything the AI says with your own research, otherwise you're just having blind faith. Might as well join a cult -
I doubt it has the creativity to take your job. It knows definitions and how to write basic code/fix basic syntax errors but I doubt it can figure out requirements from users or anything else that requires soft skills and problem solving skills

MM8312242y@TeachMeCode yet. I’m struggling to come to terms with the idea that a computer could, and at some point probably should, write more efficient code than I can. We always thought the fineries of our job were the last to be automated, turns out no. Every bit of code I’ve asked this thing for has run and done as intended, it is scary.

You know I was just thinking of this movie not long ago
Everytime I look at fat people driving through the same landscape with no changes after they stole jobs and started telling cruel lies about time not moving on and began blowing my grandparents trying to make everything unhappy for normal people -
@TeachMeCode see I like his response, because it's very true. Nuances of programming can't just be magically disappeared with a handwave

In summary, ChatGPT will not replace developers in the short term. Instead, it will help developers to be more productive at their job. This is because ChatGPT can automate repetitive and boilerplate code, leaving developers to deal with more complex problems.

ars140812yI tried it a bit and it’s a wonderful tool to learn. I asked it about improvements to some code, and while most things were kinda useless, it did suggest some things that I had forgotten or didn’t know about. I feel like I can use it as a good reference if I get stuck, as a sort of rubber duck.
I'm seriously having a lot of fun with ChatGPT and learning a whole bunch of things I didn't know before. The ease of asking it questions and getting a general idea on things is amazing.
Bye bye to my job, but at least I'll know a bunch of different things, I guess 😂
