Damn. Thats a really sad story @busuu. But (with all my respects), screw your dad. He knows nothing what you can or what you cannot do. I don't share anything of what I do with my family because they wouldn't understand and just look me weird, like I'm the biggest nerd for liking all this. But at least they are supportive.
What I mean to say is, don't do it for your dad or for anyone else. Do it for you, because you like it. Try your best, and then share your accomplishments with the rest of us. We are proud of you man 👊

Hell I'm the living example of this, just changed my job from one of the biggest software houses in my country to a relatively smaller one just because they didn't give me much work

I used to think like that, but then I started working for a company, and now it's not the same anymore

@cyanite You don't have to defend your choice. Unity (or other engine) provides a lot of the cruft so you can produce a working game fast. It is a logical choice for a lot of people wanting to bring an idea to life. Not the best choice in every situation though

Java things seem to never start fast but they can perform more than good enough when written well. Let's just assume you are one hell of a coder and let prejudice be prejudice 😉
