So what about sandboxing wine by executing it and the prefix under a different unprivileged user than your main user account ?

wine shouldn't be able to access your normal users home directory then right ?

I keep seeing goddamn ads for firejail... and then its main site is a wordpress..

ps. where the psychology of healthy human beings is concerned these people really have no fucking idea what they're doing do they ? they just know a few prepackaged dirty tricks to make people miserable but can't understand why it works.

    Isn't wine itself sandboxed?

@sariel supposedly it runs with the privileges of the invoking user
I'm noticing some other things I find annoying too
Somehow after executing commands under a completely different prefix it fucked one of my applications ability to run up

So in short no it doesn't appear to be
But if I isolated it under its own user I could sudo a shell with that user account and it wouldn't have access to my main users files theoretically

I imagine you could also use a chroot jail and bind in other directories that contain much needed libs since they require elevated permissions anyway

@sariel under another user pulseaudio is cut off

and you have to do a xhost +SI:localuser:username to share the display heh
