    What happens when you cant access ur 2FA phone anymore? Or do you have like backup codes

    I think the existence of backup codes beats the purpose of 2FA. Instead of randomly generated numbers which changes every several seconds, now we simply have 2nd password on top of 1st password. But alas.. there is no better option?

    @daniel-wu no problem if the backup codes are stored securely, I put them in my keepass db

    But the clowns at Amazon don't even provide a backup code, only phone number and id / driver's license verification which is stupid on so many levels
