    One of the more respectable jobs. Thank you for what you are doing.

    Genuinely curious - when you're on stand by and there's no emergencies, is it all free time besides you having to be there?

    @kamen yes we check the truck and gear and then just slack off waiting for a call. On day shift we also do some cleaning and training.

    ASM in VSCode on Windows 7 home edition? (Early service pack?)

    This is an interesting dev setup.

    @AlgoRythm nice guess! I asked a friend for this specific low budget no hassle setup machine so I could code GameBoy games. Many GB Dev tools come in small .exe so it's just easier with Windows.

    @NodaiWTF can't go wrong with a Thinkpad T520
  • 2
    @electrineer oh man how did you even got that?
  • 2
    @NodaiWTF I think I used a T420 one time and it had that lip at the top of the screen. It had the wifi light in a different position so it had to be another model of the same era.

    @AndroidJester I'm mostly using C and trying to make some general function in assembly just for the sake of it and because they're allegedly faster (if you know what you're doing [and I'm not]). The super fun and challenging aspect of this is the total size has to be below 32KB including all sprites and backgrounds. Also the image rendering system is nuts! Each pixel has 4 states so its info takes up 2 bits, so basically images are arrays of bytes and each byte is 4 consecutive pixels.
