Im back at University and need to code Java for my Semester Grades. My main languages are PHP and JavaScript.

Reading a book right now where it says "Java Developers are happy".

NOPE aint nobody happy about Java. Sad fucking Author of the Book, go fuck youself and retire. Java needs to retire itself, there are more modern languages available.

    Between Java and PHP, there is no guessing game. Java wins 100%.

    That beeing told. Java for me at the bottom of the bottom of structure, frameworks and, well, everything. (Still higher than PHP tho, PHP has a negative value for bottom, Java only has 0).

    But I DID do a java certification. Book was 450 pages. I opened it. Closed it. told my self 'Fuck i'll just wing that shit"

    I did. 87%. Acdeptance criteria was 76%.

    Honestly, php is easy. Really, really easy and really, really good at what it does. Which is make fast, comprehensible web apps that work reliably, all the time.

    @spongegeoff

    Except for the comprehensive, and reliable parts.

    I'm sure anyone more jaded than me will also argue the fast part 😂

    @CorefusionX Sorry, I don't know what you mean. "comprehensive" ?

    @spongegeoff

    My bad, tried to type comprehensible, but autocorrect fucked me hardcore 😅

    Like C++. Everybody should code fluently in C++ before they are allowed to call themselves programmers

    I *AM* happy writing Java. I am; however, not happy reading other people's Java or dealing with Java based applications that were created poorly.

    If you know OOP in PHP, you can figure out the rest of the language since it is forceful in its OOP strictness. Just give it a go for a bit.

    Mind you: my main language is PHP, and I actively prefer writing web applications in PHP than in Java.
