Can you give a hint as to what hammer and wrench are? Like a new laptop or something?
-
@Demolishun Large internally developed platform used for various business processes. They are decommissioning it and telling everyone to use the new system that isn't ready yet.
-
As long as that wrench is sortof in the appropriate weigth range, it should actually be fine for hammering in nails.
And management is right: Don't screw the nails, hammer them. -
Every tool in a toolbox is a hammer if it's in your hand when you need to hammer something.
-
@BobbyTables some corporate executive is looking to get a fat payout on the side by directing your companies funds away from internal tooling to a third-party service he has some private agreement with.
Think like a psychopath and most of these ploys become super obvious.
How my year has gone so far...
Management: Bobby, we are replacing your old hammer.
Me: Ok cool.
Management: Well actually there's so much going on...here is a wrench instead.
Me: But, this isn't a hammer.
Management: Yes we are aware but we are busy and cannot buy a hammer for a several more months.
Me: How the fuck am I suppose to hammer nails with this?
Management: Oh gosh you are right. That sounds difficult. We will grind down one side of it so you have a flat surface to hammer in those nails.
Management: Oh and by the way, those nails are super important so don't screw anything up.
