Lukey497yI feel so sorry for PHP. It always gets such stick and you know what, it's a decent language. It's quirky in places, and it's not as fast (without opcode caching and such) as precompiled languages, but it's easy to pick up, it's incredibly well documented, and it's ubiquitous (though this is more a benefit for companies than individuals using it).
I wish so much that PHP 7 would fork into a LTS version and a 'new projects' version, with the latter having the balls to fix all the weirdness and turning it into a solid language. I've used JS frameworks and tried that way of working a few times and I always gravitate back to PHP because it's got literally decades of standardisation and structure built into it. -
