I'm the only person at work with a windows phone...

They look at me weirdly...

They suck really badly

@DjSall I can say the exact same thing about android. it really depends on your definition of "suck"

@MrCSharp my family had multiple windows phones (3) qnd tgey all failed after the warranty period.
Random shutdowns, overheating etc.
There are no apps for it.
The settings are super locked down.
It is good for people who don't need functionality in their phones, other than calling people.

@MrCSharp W00h00!!! Another Windows Phone user! I think you're the second I encounter in here...
@DjSall Could you elaborate a bit more for the last two? How are the settings super locked down compared to an Android phone? My only experience with Android is with my brother's Xperia phones and I found the settings to be about the same as my Lumia. And can you be more specific about functionality on the 4th point you made?

@DjSall I guess android is somehow magically immune to hardware failures and software bugs /s

@MrCSharp it is not, but I just had a really bad experience with them, and thqt is why i dislike them.

I had a WP for a while, but in the end I switched to Blackberry. Unfortunately on Windows Phone every app sucked, even OneNote had less functionality than on Android for some reason.

And installing a different keyboard language required a reboot...I'm still not sure if that was a joke of a Microsoft dev.

@DjSall I think smartphone experience is similar to computer OS experience. Once you get accustomed with one, the others don't seem that good.

@Qaldim i like linux as well as windows.
I only despise windows phones, everything else is fine with me.

I had WP... Twice. I loved the built of lumia phones (800 especially). But I had to switch because of apps. Very bad dedication from companies towards app improvement/support.

@DjSall @thegamblerises I can't blame you for that. The smartphone I've started with and currently use is Lumia 535. When I bought it almost 2 years ago it came with Windows 8.1. Microsoft had a good momentum back then on the phones. Then it made the turn to Windows 10 and put the phones aside, leaving many users adrift. Companies started to withdraw their apps from the Win Store and here we are now... ;-)

Great job in using the Windows Phone.

@DjSall I haven't used a Windows phone but I did go from Android (Xperia mini pro) to an iPhone 5 and now OnePlus 3

I used my first Android phone for a couple years and only got my OnePlus last year, for me they were straight upgrades, I also got another Android phone while using my iPhone but it felt so sluggish and that was really because it was a sub-par phone.

Still though I loved my first Android phone, playing the Gameboy advance emulator with a physical keyboard is the best!

@notNSA got used to such negative comments over the last 5 years.. still, I survive and Windows Phone/Mobile survives too ;)

I know a student who has a Lumia and an iPad. If thats not weired I don't know what else.

I once couldnt get a job because I have a Windows phone. They authenticated their pc's with ios or android phones. They didnt have the infrastructure for windows phones

@Codex404 Wow, that's harsh. Was the authentication done by an app not available on Windows Store or was it done with another way?

@Qaldim i think it was done by an app but im not sure. But my colleague did get the job.

Ok, but Windows Phones are really rare and I would look at you like that too probably. What I would like to know, did you regret buying a Windows phone?

@binop no, never regret it. Started with a Lumia 520 on 2013 and kept upgrading... Now I'm on a Lumia 950 xl... Can't see myself using other platforms.

@Codebeard nope. MS bought the phone division from Nokia and phones were rebranded to Microsoft
