So just noticed a horizontal crackc across my tempered glass screen protector.

Me: lucky I spent $5 more buying a screen protector

    Next time you should get a screen protector protector for your screen protector you use to protect your screen 😎

    @demiko if you buy a proper one it is. You can get them from the same Gorilla glass the phone has

    @demiko I dropped my OPO 4 times onto concrete ground over the years.

    Still good. Other phones I've seen/had:

    iTouch 1: dropped on wood floor a few times, totally cracked
    Dad's Nexus 4: he dropped on the ground once or twice, it got cracked, the only things that worked were the buttons.... Unable to do a backup to PC because I couldn't code to allow the connection

    Seems I have double protection... Corning Gorilla Glass is also tempered glass...

    @demiko sure, it doesn't prevent your phone from hitting the floor, but it prevents the screen from cracking during the hit. The tempered glass screen protector breaks, but the regular screen doesn't get damaged.

    That's literally what they are for, and glass-screen-protectors are the only reason the screen of my 3 years old phone is still pristine

    @demiko don't care, as long as my screen isn't broken. And so far, it's fine

    @demiko experience does though

    @billgates in his world energy do not disperse but transfer infinitely and directly thus a hit breaking one layer of glass also break two. (And 3 and 4 and...)

    @demiko tempered glass screen protectors come in thicknesses up to 0.5 mm (the one i use is 0.24mm). This is a real peace of visibly thick glass, not a thin sheet of plastic.

    @demiko noone is talking about scratch protectors. Let me say this again: screen protectors. From gorilla glass. Same thickness and durability, literally identical, to the one on the phone.
