AgarvaiN168y@DavidINC thankfully there is no source code for Linux out there.........................
-
@AgarvaiN the fact that it is open source means that there is more of a chance that vulnerabilities will be found and fixed, maybe windows source would expose vulnerabilities but ppl have to wait for Microsoft fo fix them
-
AgarvaiN168y@DavidINC Well, first of all, I wanna note that I'm not a fanboy, so I don't prefer any system over other one. Each of them excels at something, and neither one is perfect.
So I use what I seem fit at the moment for the task at hand.
But just the fact that something is open source, or that it has more eyes looking at it, doesn't even mean that an exploit will be seen at all, and yet alone fixed "sooner" (ie. shell shocker).
Also Microsoft does release important fixes on time, users just don't update as often, hence the forced update in Win 8+
Now don't get me wrong, I know Windows is full of security holes as it is, even without the leak. But your argument just doesn't make sense.
Although I don't feel like going into greater details over this.
