Try to be nice to these people. They deal with the ones you *really* don't want to deal with. Like your parents. Or your muggle friends.

A local hardware shop had an ad just for guys like you. Goes like this: A guy walks into the shop and a girl approaches asking if he needs any help. The guy shrugs her off and then the girl begins to own him with knowledge.
Don't be sexist yo. Be nice.

juzles38587yDude I had friends that were doing cs in university but needed money so they worked in tech stores.
You don't know their story to make assumptions. -
I work(ed) in an electronics store. The number of people like you who assumed I didn't know anything is astounding. Even a "no, I'm just looking" in a polite tone is much appreciated. Or "I saw this laptop online and wanted to check it out" is better. It lets the employee know you've done your research, know what you want, and if they have the laptop, they get to talk to someone who understands computers about how much they love it.
Please don't just assume that the people working there don't know what they're doing; they could have another (computer related) p job and just be there part time for the discount ;)

When you picked your next laptop on the internet but you still go to the local store to see how it looks and feels in real life and the store girl approaches and asks you if she can help with something? You respond: No, thank you. But what you actually mean: No you can't help me, you drone. I could program an app in half a day that would be more useful and helpful than you.
