F**k windows update! Now I lose everything I have working on

yep, that's literally the reason, why i'm using ubuntu since high school.

Last time I used Windows for work, one of those forced update restarts happened while I was sleeping, and it killed all my tmux sessions on WSL

So I bought myself a used ThinkPad to use exclusively for work

Now I use Ubuntu and the last time I had my laptop rebooted or shut down was 26 days ago
