What the fuck is wrong with Windows?
I put it into sleep. After a while, it just wakes up again.
I put it into hibernation. It boots up again.

I closed anything that could potentially wake it up like instant messengers etc.
Still it wakes up after a random amount of time.

9 out of 10 times I've seen this it was because of a NIC that has configured itself to be able to wake the computer. Sometimes it happens after updates and the setting gets reverted.

Maybe, Windows shedules itself an update or something. I use switchable power strips for everything and don't know whether Windows would actually do so if it could...

    Lots of reasons:
    - BIOS can start after power loss
    - LAN adapters WOL by default: check them
    - mouse/keyboard etc. wake by default: check every USB device in "Device Manager"
    - scheduled events: check "Event Manager"
    - scheduled updates: check "active hours"

@IntrusionCM how did they got fucked up? And is there a way to unfuck them?

@SuspiciousBug thanks for your hints. I’ve disabled WOL on the LAN adapters (I think). Let’s see if that helps.

I think I can exclude the other sources.
I want the usb devices to wake up on key press or mouse movement, unless they wake up without any input.

    @Lensflare

Advanced Power settings and trying to find the ones which have the setting "Allow the computer to sleep" *not* set.

    https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/...

powercfg allows to view requests coming in, generating diagnosis etc.

Mostly vendors fucked up the drivers, Windows Updates or App changed settings or the settings were fucked because noone cared.

Looks like it was the WOL on the network adapter. Windows is sleeping like a baby now.
