Is it just me and the computer I was assigned at work or high end workstations are just some overpriced piece of crap.

It is so slow when turning on that I almost forget why I did turn it on…

To add to the whole crappitude, the trashware has a magnetic hdd … I am not writing from the past, it was 2023 this morning…

    what are we talking about, when saying overpriced?

    In any case HDDs are considered old school nowadays, yeah

    No it isn't just you. Switching from a 10k RPM HDD (WD Velociraptor) to an SSD (Samsung EVO Basic) was the most impactful PC upgrade of my life - almost ten years ago...

    @rov3rand0m okay big yikes.
    Maybe it has lifetime support or some shit.
    Or one of these work station GPUs for CAD n stuff. That price is high tho.

    HDDs still have a place: they're cheap and hold way more than SSDs. As a boot drive, though? That's a bit of an issue, fair, considering Windows hasn't been optimized for HDDs since... XP? and most people still run it.
