LuPaw6037yTry linux mint if you are lazy. It automatically recognises what driver you need so you can easily install it
-
avedis31677y@meme, as @LuPaw suggested, Mint is better for starting up... it's also easier to deploy. As u mentioned, you probably had some hiccups during setup.
Your problem may also be hardware: meaning your system architecture might be tailormade for windows. (Which is highly the case) -
@meme I had the same problem with WiFi. Turns out Ubuntu randomises your address for security reasons every few moments. I also had an outdated WiFi driver
-
rksh5527y@shivayl i know Google has all the answers. I tried google too. But the problem is it takes too much time to setup and configure as per my liking so i don't think its beneficial to invest too much time in just setting up an OS.

rksh5527y@Faraaz thanks but its too late dude.
I already installed windows. Will keep this in mind next time or when dual-boot -

Learning Linux should be basic for any developer hoping to do anything related to the internet in any way... and probably for the rest too.
-
Just use some VM for the linux related stuff. That is quite enough when the driver situation is that grave.
Also just ignore the Linux elitists. They will throw a tantrum whenever something other than Linux is mentioned. -
I have dual booted my PC and trust me Linux is not bad ... But it's overrated !!

CodeLyfe437yI did the same thing last weekend. Then factory reset and returned that laptop. Now back on my MacBook Air.

Ok, I was stooopid in the past. I told people that it didn't matter what distribution you used. That's bullcrap. There's a reason why some distributions adopt a full open source approach, while Canonical has some proprietary code in it - fucking drivers.
So yeah, drivers can be a bitch. But that can only mean that in 99% of cases the worst case scenario will be when you have to find guides on how to set up your devices. In just 1% of cases just nothing works and you go back to whatever OS you've been using in the past.
But if you manage to get past that, and you only use that machine for web surfing and coding, Linux is an awesome OS.
I'm writing this from Windows. Because I'm a bit tipsy, and I'm gonna play some stuff from Origin. #screw_ea -
As a Ubuntu user, I can agree that the first setups and tweaking will drive you nuts to learn and use effectively. However, as time went by, I grew to love the software and the command line.
I suggest you give it its time and love and eventually it will love you back. -
rksh5527yThere are so many people asking me to try again using it. So i will for sure, try using VM. âī¸
