My Laptop's internal HDD broke. I unscrewed the cover, looked at the label and found the reason why:

The Label said "Seag_te"

Seagay(te). I don't want to offend gay people with this

I've rarely ever had problems with Seagate drives

If you use consumer drives, yes, haven't tried out enterprise Seagate drives. Mine have strange problems, like wrong RPM ( •_•)
Consumer drives are just fine for FreeNAS NAS, as long as they do not have a write back cache.
