Technological solutions for social problems, it probably won't work, see spam, trolling, doxing, terrorism, etc.
Image must be rendered on screen, it's a lost battle -
@rohitshetty FB I'm calling your bullshit out.
I'm not an expert by far, but I find it hard to believe they can prevent you for screen capping something.
Can anyone who knows about this area come and chime in please? Thanks! -
Avyy7507yYeah....it happens like this with every site. I can download media from Instagram and YouTube also in a similar way.

@jhh2450 preventing screen capture makes sense for mobile devices. Where you have control over it. On laptop I am not sure.

@jamesharrington The way I read it, it sounded as if Paint wouldn't be updated anymore, but would still remain on your PC.
Nonetheless, there's still loopholes involving the PrtSc button. -
No way to prevent that. If its on the web it's able to be captured.
But why is this a big deal? I mean why are they going to the trouble specifically for Indians? Is it a law or something? -
@ninjatini many girls/females hesitate to share their picture online. There are creeps (like all societies have)whon (and have) misused the pics.
This has made FB to launch this feature for Indian audience. -
@rohitshetty Weird. Unfortunately only band aids are available. There's no way to stop someone from copying the photos if they want. If there were, Hollywood would have figured it out years ago.

@relentlessCoder calm your bits. I am Indian myself. And a man too. I know there are pervert everywhere. But sadly because Indian society has made sex into taboo it comes out in weird ways. You can check online forums. Indian men do have a Ill repute. It was not a personal attack or I was not saying 'all' Indian men are pervert. But significant numbers are online. And sadly the root cause is not them too.

FB launched profile picture guard feature recently for Indian users ( well, we Indian men deserve these kind of publicity. -.- anyone being on Indian forums knows what I am talking about )
Anyway it claims that othersa CANT download your profile picture. But. I just did inspect element and found the image and saved it (and deleted of course. This was for research purposes). How effective do you think this can be?
